BLACK LIVES MATTER
RACISM. PREJUDICE. INTOLERANCE, DISCRIMINATION, IGNORANCE...
DIVERSITY, EQUALITY, RESPECT, EDUCATION, OPPORTUNITY, JUSTICE, HUMANITY, DIGNITY, INCLUSIVENESS...
Why this blog page? As a teacher, I feel I have the right, but also an opportunity. As an individual, I want to grab it... to celebrate the richness and beauty of diversity.
I would like people - my pupils, essentially - to be able to share their thoughts, to express themselves in a constructive way. If possible, to lift the veil off of some ideas that may sometimes be limited because not explored enough.
There will be testimonies, interviews, speeches, symbols, historical data... Objective facts, but also other people's personal accounts... Books I have read and films I have seen, too. There are some thoughts I share... and others I do not.
There will also be introductions to artists and authors of color who inspire and enlighten - the pieces I present will not necessarily be "BLM movement material"...
Some texts or recordings may be a bit difficult to understand when English is not your mother tongue.
THIS is a GREAT opportunity for you to practice and improve your skills !!
IT'S OKAY if you do not understand everything !!
PLEASE POST COMMENTS
(preferably in English, but even in French, if you need to !)
in the comments section of this blog publication.
This will be more worthwhile (= efficace, constructif, qui en vaut la peine) if you PARTICIPATE.
I will publish a new post every day, so make sure you come back !
